Nigerian artiste, Wizkid has made history by becoming the first and only Nigerian artiste to bag an award the Soul Train awards.

The Soul Train Awards which took place in Las Vegas on the 18th of November, 2019 saw several big acts worldwide emerge winners and Starboy, Wizkid was one of them.

The singer who was featured on the “Brown Skin Girl” track which is off Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift album was nominated for two categories; Best Collaboration and The Ashford & Simpson’s Songwriter Award.

However, ‘Brown Skin Girl” by Beyonce, Wizkid, Blue Ivy Carter, and SaiNt Jhn won only the prestigious Ashford and Sampson Songwriters’ Award. The credited songwriters on the track are; Beyoncé Knowles, Carlos St. John, Adio Marchant, Shawn Carter, Stacy Barthe, Anathi Mnyango, Michael Uzowuru, Ayodeji Balogun and Richard Isong. With this latest achievement, he becomes the first and only Nigerian artiste to win a Soul Train Award.
