We all thought Chioma Avril Rowland was Davido’s last stop (perhaps that perception has still not changed because they are still together).
On the flipside, since we know a woman’s most priceless security is when she has been married in a lavish wedding which is yet to happen in the case of Chioma, so we are wondering what goes through her head as 2020 slowly slips by. Davido gave Chioma, the woman who gave him his first son the ‘assurance’ that he would marry her in 2020. Davido went as far as producing a song and a matching music video dedicated to Chioma to substantiate the fact she’s going to be his bona fide property.
However, the famed ‘assurance’ never happened after the Nigerian singer sensationally disclosed recently that his plans have been thwarted by the global pandemic. That’s what the publicly declared in an interview with BBNaija’s Ebuka on Bounce Radio. “Corona messed up our wedding plans but I have decided sometime next year we will get married. Right now I want Chioma to focus on her brand and business.”
In a nutshell, we think the Nigerian superstar doesn’t want to be tied to one woman owing to his exuberance. Don’t forget the honcho of the 30 Billion Gang has three kids with three different baby mamas and from the look of things, nothing will stop this cycle anytime soon. He still loves Chioma, no doubt about it but marriage is something that doesn’t coincide with his short-term plan at the moment.
