OpenAI has released the prototype for their new AI project, Chat GPT, but what is it exactly, and is it free to use online?
Sam Altman’s OpenAI released an artificial intelligence chatbot on November 30 named ChatGPT and it’s taken the tech industry and the internet by storm – and a little concerned, if we’re honest.
Founded by Elon Musk and Altman in 2015, OpenAI’s latest chatbot application is capable of understanding human dialogue and generating detailed human-life text as if you were typing to a friend.
Research for GPT commenced in 2018 and two versions have been released so far, but neither has been released to the general public. So, what is it and how do you use it?
WHAT IS CHAT GPT?
ChatGPT (generative pre-training) is an AI chatbot system akin to the automated customer support chats seen online. It is, however, a massive step up as it isn’t limited to several answer options that can be frustrating.
Trained by artificial intelligence and machine learning, the application can provide information and answer questions through a conversation.
The dialogue format allows follow-up questions and most lifelike of all, admits its mistakes and rejects inappropriate requests, writes the company statement.
ChatGPT can do more than offer you a conversation; OpenAI has equipped it with the ability to correct grammar, summarize difficult text into simpler concepts, convert movie titles into emojis, and even fix bugs in Python code.
At the time of writing, there are 49 different tools to play around with.
IS CHAT GPT FREE TO USE?
Yes, ChatGPT is currently free to use during OpenAI’s feedback period. The company hopes to use the reviews to improve the final version.
